HOW IT WORKS.

Expansion Vessels

The expansion vessels compensate the variations in pressure due to the expansion or reduction of the volume of water, resulting from changes in temperature.
The Officine Varisco vessels are pressurised without a diaphragm and they satisfy the safety requirements of large-sized plants, such as hospitals, sport centres, airports and power station.

They are also used in plants where the temperature or the characteristics of fluids are incompatible with the rubber membranes of the vessels with a diaphragm. The OFFICINE VARISCO expansion vessels are CE approved, according to the 97/23/CE (PED) Directive.

CLOSED WITHOUT DIAPHRAM
The expansion vessels are composed by a carbon steel pressure vessel built and tested in accordance with the Directive 2014/68/EU of the European Parliament.

PRESURRIZED BY AIR
During the phase of installation, the expansion vessels are pressurized by an air compressor or by air compressed with a major pressure of the hydrostatic pressure where the expansion vessel is installed.

CONSTANT PRESSURE, VARIABLE LEVEL
The working pressure is kept constant with the expulsion of the air in excess during the phases of water expansion (water heating) and/or the potential release of a new compressed air during the phase of downturn (water cooling).

CHECK OF PUTTING INTO SERVICE AND FOLLOWING CHECKS
The expansion vessels of a cylinder are provided with all the accessories according to the current rules to guarantee its automatic and safe function and they have been certified by Ministerial Decree on the regulation providing norms to put into service and using pressure equipment and the assemblies. The checks are carried out in the factory therefore every cylinder can be exempt by the putting into service test.

CERTIFICATION CE N.2014/68/UE

The heat exchangers are designed, built and tested according to European directive 2014/68/UE on pressure appliances (PED).

NUMBER PLATE

Each heat exchanger is fitted with a “number plate” showing the specifications.
This must be kept for the future traceability of the appliance.
